Choosing a Mac

Apple recommends 24GB or more memory to run more apps at once for faster, more fluid multitasking, audio and video production workflows, and advanced projects that require enormous files and content libraries.

External Displays

You can find a wide array of displays that work with a Mac, with Apple’s Studio Display and Studio Display XDR leading the pack in both features and price. Both models are immersive 27‑inch 5K Retina displays which include a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View, advanced mics and speakers, plus two Thunderbolt 5 ports along and two USB-C ports. These displays provide unparalleled sharpness with 5120-by-2880 resolution at 218 pixels per inch, and they are the perfect partner for Mac. Just refreshed in Spring 2026.

There’s little direct competition, but Dell and Alogic offer more basic monitors with good display quality. Note that these third-party displays don’t include webcams, speakers, or microphones, so for video calls you could use an iPhone with Continuity Camera.

Home Networking

We can install and manage a robust UniFi network for your home or office. Contact us to plan, install, configure, and manage your UniFi network.

We recommend GoNetSpeed where available, Frontier Fiber or Optimum Fiber.

For a simple WiFi system that you may be able to install and manage yourself, we recommend Eero.

External SSD & Backup Hard Drives

All Macs now use solid-state storage internally, and the pricing of external solid-state drives (SSDs) now makes them attractive as silent backups. SSDs also provide the ultimate performance for demanding workflows, and can be used for additional storage in limited circumstances. External Hard Disk Drives (HDDs) are only useful for Mac backup.
