Time is up for Time Capsule

Are you still using a Time Capsule for Wi-Fi and backups? Are your backups even working?

Apple discontinued the AirPort Time Capsule and other AirPort Wi-Fi devices several years ago, so the newest Time Capsule model is now over 3 years old and should no longer be trusted with your backup data.

Hard drives like the one inside the Time Capsule are mechanical devices that wear out over time. If you're still using the Time Capsule for backups, it's time to replace it with a new backup device.

We recommend an external hard drive connected to each Mac (under $100 each), plus Backblaze for automatic offsite backup ($7/month).

If you're concerned that an external hard drive would be cumbersome to keep connected to your Mac, consider a centralized wireless Backup Server from PsiMac. For $499, this backup system includes dual 4TB hard drives for extra protection, and can back up all of the Macs in your home or office.
